About the Narratives
A set of Echo's Bible narratives is now available free to download for individual and local church use. These stories are an attempt to paint a picture of God's redemptive plan and to help listeners connect with God's story.
We hope that these stories will be a bridge to get people excited about reading and digging into the stories of the Bible. In developing these narratives, our goal was to remain true to the biblical texts, preserving key events and dialogue. We did our best not to embellish with our own exposition, addition, elaboration, or cultural perspectives. We were not trying to "modernize" the stories, but to tell them chronologically and accurately.
We spent months comparing English translations as we stitched together each narrative, largely basing the content on the New International Version and New Living Translation. In certain spots, key truths may be emphasized or repeated to draw out a character's qualities. These narratives are certainly a work in progress, and we value any input or questions you may have!
