Echo's Bible narratives are my attempt to paint a picture of God's redemptive plan and to help listeners connect with God's story. In developing these stories, my goal was to remain true to the biblical texts, preserving key events and dialogue. I hope these stories will be a bridge to get people excited about reading and digging into the stories of the Bible. I did my best not to embellish them with my own exposition, addition, elaboration, or cultural perspectives. I wasn’t trying to “modernize” the stories but tell them chronologically and accurately.
I spent months comparing English translations as I stitched together each narrative, largely basing the content on the New International Version and New Living Translation. In certain spots, key truths may be emphasized or repeated to draw out a character’s qualities.
One of the things that should define us as followers of Jesus is a posture of humility... especially in our approach to the Scriptures. I’ll be the first to tell you that I don’t have the Bible all figured out. My narratives probably don’t contain every detail that every reader would want in them. This process has instilled in me a desire to never stop listening and learning from the Scriptures, seeing new insights, and discovering new things from new friends. My narratives are certainly a work in progress. I would love to learn from you – please contact me if you have any suggestions.
Video Environments: Separation Story
We are in the process of developing visual backdrops for many of the narratives. We will post on the blog when more of these are available.
